OUR PHILOSOPHY
Founded by Shannon Doher in 2011, Touch Institute Los Angeles (TILA) is committed to providing evidence-based touch therapy for the entire family.
All populations - from infants to older adults, elite athletes to casual fitness enthusiasts, and those recovering from injuries, surgery, or living with disabilities - can benefit from the positive effects of compassionate touch on overall health and well-being.
We provide comprehensive massage and organic skin care services in a family-friendly beach clinic - where everyone is welcome!
Established in El Segundo on Main Street as one of the first spa/clinics offering pediatric massage therapy in Los Angeles, TILA moved to its current Richmond Street location in 2015. We are thankful for the community support that allows us to provide our unique services to families throughout LA County.
The heart of TILA is the Center for Pediatric Touch Therapy
A Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist (CPMT) is specially trained and certified to meet the therapeutic needs of children and adolescents, including developing athletes, youth recovering from injuries, and those living with diagnosed physical, medical, or psychological conditions.
Having been introduced to touch therapy for children when her own child was battling for his life in the NICU, it was Shannon's ambition to bring compassionate touch to children outside of the hospital setting.
Shannon is a Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist (CPMT) and Infant Massage Instructor (CIMT) with a specialty in treating children on the autism spectrum. In addition, Shannon is certified in sports therapy and women's health, with an emphasis on pre & post natal massage, reflexology and lymphatic drainage. Shannon has been licensed with the CAMTC since 2010, is a recognized provider with the LiddleKidz Foundation and SentinelFour Harbor Regional Center.
Bodywork by Anthony - Anthony is an El Segundo local providing the very best in Deep Tissue and Sports Massage. Anthony, is a Certified Sports Therapist, with over 10 years experience. He customizes treatments to individual needs using various techniques including ART, trigger point, reflexology, cupping, hot stone. & stretching. Whether you are an aspiring athlete, a professional athlete, an 80 year old weekend warrior, or someone in between - Anthony has a treatment to keep you moving and feeling your best! Skin Care by Natashia - Natashia has been providing personalized skin care in the South Bay for over 20 years. She is a master Eminence Organic esthetician and proficient in facials, peels, and body treatments. Other specialties include microdermabrasion, Infra-Red cool laser, and full body waxing. Any client who is sick with flu, cold, covid or any other transmittable disease is kindly asked to reschedule until fully recovered.
